God’s Got You All Covered
““I am the Alpha and the Omega, ” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”” (Revelation 1:8 WEB)
In the Greek alphabet, alpha is the first letter and omega is the last letter. So the title “the Alpha and the Omega” essentially means “the beginning and the end” or “the first and the last”.
Are you facing a new beginning? God is the Alpha.
Are you at an ending? God is the Omega.
Life is made up of beginnings and endings. With an ending comes a fresh beginning—and your God is in all of them.
Humans are funny. We have this tendency to be stuck in the past, take the present for granted and be worried or fearful about the future.
Well if you have trouble moving on from the past, God is the one “who was”.
He was there intervening in your past—things turned out way better than they would have without His help.
If you’re unable to find joy or purpose in the present, God is the one “who is”. He is inside you right now, in this very moment, through the Holy Spirit.
You can face today because He is with you—your very present help and your Paraklētos—the Helper who fights your battles and guides you into all truth.
If you are worried or fearful about the future, remember that God is the one “who is to come”.
We may not know what lies ahead in the future, but when we know He’ll go ahead of us to prepare the path ahead—like a loving Father making sure the way is safe for His bumbling toddler, we can rest in His goodness and love.
If God really covers your beginnings, endings, past, present and future, then what do you need to be concerned about? Just rest in the truth that He’s got your life covered and He’s on your side working all things out for your good.
This is how you live with a restful soul. Even when things look stormy, remind yourself that God is still with you and that He’s working on it—your role is just to have faith in Him.
